Watercolours

This gallery contains illustrations created in line and wash. This style is effective for publishing when a certain amount of realism is required as it is quicker and more immediate to achieve than colouring digitally, and it also gives a more traditional illustrated feel which is often required for books, such as the styles shown in this gallery on the subject of childcare. The style can look traditional but still contemporary provided the colours are punchy and the characters look up to date.

I have also used this style for architectural and horticultural illustrations. I was commissioned by the RHS to illustrate leaflets on the subjects of urban front gardens and garden water saving techniques. Some of these illustrations have been reproduced in the national press on a number of oaccasions.

The architectural illustrations were commissiond by a bespoke hardwood conservatory company, to show their client what a conservatory, orangery or garden room would look like in situ. I have produced more than 50 of these over the past five years.
